This film is about a spoiled heiress (Claudette Colbert) who runs away from her family and is helped by a man (Clark Gable) who's actually a reporter looking for a story. This film is a winner of of five Oscars, including best picture, actor, actress, screenplay, and director, and it is ranked number eight on the American Film Institute's "100 Years…100 Laughs" list. The Orphan Tsunami of 1700: A Scientific Detective Story

Description: Prominent geologist Brian Atwater talks about his team's discovery of the great earthquake and tsunami of 1700, which originated off the Washington State coast and was so powerful it engulfed villages in Japan. Atwater's study of Japanese records uncovered this forgotten event, and also revealed the geological monster off our coast: the Cascadian Subduction Zone, source of probable future "big ones." Atwater works at the University of Washington and is also a member of the prestigious National Science Foundation.
