The Sweet Sounds of Christmas

Description: The Everett Chorale will present their annual holiday concert “The Sweet Sounds of Christmas” at the Everett Performing Arts Center on Saturday, December 6 at 7:30 PM and Sunday, December 7 at 3 PM. The first half of the concert will feature the music of internationally renowned composer John Rutter who will celebrate his 70th birthday in 2015. His popular “Gloria”, for brass ensemble, timpani and organ, will be the major work performed by the 65 voice Chorale. The second half of the concert will feature two local ensembles as guest artists: the Brass Reflections Quintet and the Snohomish County Children’s Choir. Both groups have appeared with the Chorale on previous concerts and been received with great enthusiasm and praise. They will join the Chorale in a seasonal group of Christmas anthems and carols which will include an audience carol sing-along. “Ding Dong! Merrily on High”, “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen”, “I Wonder As I Wander” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” are just a few of the familiar songs which will be featured.

Happy 25th Birthday, Evergreen Branch!

Description: Happy 25th, Evergreen Branch Library…it’s the Branch Birthday Bash! We are pulling out all the stops to celebrate the library’s birthday. Marvel at our stilt-walking one-man band, decorate your own cupcake, bash a piñata, work on crafts, play Bananagrams, take part in our prize walk, and bring a can of food and a camera so you can take a photo in in our birthday photo booth. We will also judge a coloring contest for the kids, so stop by the branch earlier in the month to pick up a sheet. Prizes will be awarded! The Everett Public Library will be hosting the all-ages family-friendly bash on Wednesday, December 10th from 4:30 to 7:30 at the Evergreen Branch Library, 9512 Evergreen Way.
