Community Streets Initiative

Description: At the direction of Mayor Stephanson, the city is convening a task force of community members, business owners and service providers to focus on street-level social issues in Everett's urban cores and develop recommendations that could be implemented by the community. Task force mission: In order to foster a vibrant and healthy community, the task force will seek to better understand the street-level social issues in Everett’s commercial-core areas and identify potential short- and long-term actions for the community to address those issues. Get involved All task force meetings will be open to the public, and we encourage interested community members to attend. Meetings will be held every other Thursday, from 3-6 p.m., at the Weyerhaeuser Room at Everett Station.

Veterans Day USO Dance

Description: The Carl Gipson Senior Center of Everett celebrates Veterans Day in a very special way by offering a free USO dance. The 9th Annual Veterans Day USO Dance for veterans of all wars -- 50 years and older, will be an event you do not want to miss! Join us from 1-5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, for Route 66, the 16-piece swing band performing for this special day of remembrance. There will also be refreshments and displays from the 1940's. Attendance is limited to 400 guests and tickets must be presented at the door for admittance. For reservations, contact the senior center at 425-257-8780.
