Community Streets Initiative

Description: At the direction of Mayor Stephanson, the city is convening a task force of community members, business owners and service providers to focus on street-level social issues in Everett's urban cores and develop recommendations that could be implemented by the community. Task force mission: In order to foster a vibrant and healthy community, the task force will seek to better understand the street-level social issues in Everett’s commercial-core areas and identify potential short- and long-term actions for the community to address those issues. Get involved All task force meetings will be open to the public, and we encourage interested community members to attend. Meetings will be held every other Thursday, from 3-6 p.m., at the Weyerhaeuser Room at Everett Station.

Monster Bash: Touch a Tank and Truck Event!

Description: Get scary close to a multitude of mythical and marvelous machines at the Flying Heritage Collection’s first annual Monster Bash: Touch a Tank and Truck Event! Free admission for kids under 13 dressed in costume! A collection of big, bad, and burly vehicles will descend on the Flying Heritage Collection at Paine Field in Everett on October 4, 2014, from 10am to 2pm. You can touch monster trucks, tanks, aircraft rescue and firefighting crash trucks, and more! Monster Bash kicks off the fall season at the FHC. Exhibitors will hand out treats to attendees while supplies last. Food vendors will be present. All ages are welcome!

Exhibits: Halfway to Somewhere & Innovation

Description: Opening Reception: October 9, 5-8pm "Halfway to Somewhere" features individual and collaborative glass works by Brent Rogers and Granite Calimpong. The exhibit is the result of their shared residency at the Pittsburgh Glass Center (PGC) in 2013. As resident artists at PGC, Calimpong and Rogers were able to experiment, try new ideas and make art in a nonlinear way using different materials and new approaches and processes. "Innovation" Opening Reception: October 9, 5-8pm This exhibit will feature new works by artists in the 2013 Pilchuck Emerging Artists in Residence (EAiR) program in partnership with Pilchuck Glass School.
